So today I am 28weeks PG! WOW! I had my last visit with my fav OB and it was sad that she wont be able to take care of my pg the rest of the time. Stupid insurance is making us have our baby at another hospital she doesnt deliver at. So I am forced to go to a new OB starting in 2 wks. Such a bummer. My OB has been great about this and on our last visit, took extra time talking with us and told me to tell her about all my updates and to bring the baby by after it is here. She even gave Tim a hug and gave the kids some of her cookies. I must say she is the BEST doc I have ever had.
As for how the baby and I are doing....B/P was 118/70 and I gained 5 lbs since my last visit. :( Brings my total weight gain to 25LBS and I still have 8 or more wks left. Uterus is measuring 30 wks along, which is great. And NO preterm labor to speak of.
All my labs came back GREAT as well. So far so good. OB made her last prediction of BOY and asked the kids and Tim what they thought it was. Savannah said BOY, Marcus said it was "NOTHING", and she asked Scarlett then answered that is was "GOO GOO" since that was all she could say. Tim said he is wishing it was a boy. I vote for BOY as well. Now we shall see.
Well when I get some time I will post the 27wk sono pics. Havent had time to scan them. Yes I am bad.

26 wk update:
Well things have been a lil rough around here. The whole Fam has been sick 2 times in the past month. I have been busy taking care of them and myself. My pregnancy health has gotten a lil worse as the symptoms of the gall bladder/liver are increasing. So far none of the docs I see are willing to treat me as I am not bad enough they say. I go to a visit this week and am hoping they will redo some labs and then maybe the labs will be high enough for them to give me the proper meds.
The baby is estimated to be a lil over 2 lbs right now. Sure feels alot heavier than that! So 26 weeks down and 10wks to go till my 36 wks mark. Just trying to get to that point. Hope the 10 wks will go by fast and without too much discomfort.
Here are some 26 wk belly shots...

17 week ultrasound pics

Baby was PERFECT! All the measurements came out right on target. For the first part of the scan it slept then towards the end decided to wake up. Upon waking up, it started to stretch and open and close the hands. Then we got to see it play with it's hands and suck on the fingers. I am already so astounded that this baby has been so active this early in PG. I think this one will be our most active one yet.We decided to NOT find out the sex so we can have that surprise on the big day. Hey it was a huge surprise so it may as well stay a surprise. Our next sono will be Dec. 30th and in 3-D! Cant wait to see our lil surprise at 28wks.

16 weeks this week!

So this week I will be 16 weeks and officially 4 months along! Time sure is flying by with this PG.
Well since I am 16 weeks thought I would share some belly pics with you all. Pic #1 and 2 are my belly and Savannah and Marcus. The last is Scarlett at 6mths old. She loves to be swung around. So cute I must say.
OK back to the PG stuff, I see my OB for a check up tomorrow and then I will count down to my 20 week scan. Dont expect to get a call saying whether it is a BOY or GIRL! We are NOT finding out this time. I want that big surprise in delivery day. Since this is my last chance to be surprised I am taking it. Not saying it wont be easy...but we all have to be patient like back in the old days. LOL
After I reach 20 weeks....I will have 16 weeks left in my goal of 36 weeks in the PG. I am hoping to make it to 36 weeks as are my health care providers. We shall see how well I can take care of me and the baby this time.
As for my iron infusions, they are going well. I have had 4 so far and my blood levels have went from 9.6 to 10.3 after only 3 infusions. So I will start them again tomorrow and continue with 2 a week till my blood level gets to 13-14. I hope to feel better soon. Still tired but getting some bursts of energy here and there. They say you can start to see and feel better after a full treatment which is 8 sessions and the doc wants me to have 20 to 40 sessions. I dont think I will need that many but we shall see. Well that is enough of an update for now. Will update soon. -Terra

Officially 13wks!
So I call this me being 13 wks when I really have 1 day to go. What is a day?
I had my nuchal scan last week and all was well. So we are planning to have the next peek inside of my uteri when I reach 17-19 wks. Seems like a long time but not really. Oct is almost half way here already, so not far.
We are still undecided about finding out the gender and I really am trying to decide if I can live with never getting that surprise "it's a ?" after I push and go through all the hard work. I want this one thing to be in my control...and this is something no one else can know but me.....I can have mommy intuition but 100% knowing will be reserved for Tim, and I who are blessed to be present. Then they can announce it to the world.
I am truly thinking since this is my LAST chance to get a surprise....I want it. So TEAM Green here all the way.
Oh as for pics from the 12 wks sono....Here "lil Fabela" is...Showing a cute profile and also sucking on some fingers....oh so cute! Well Enjoy!

This Thursday I start seeing my Hemotologists who will watch my Hemoglobin and iron levels. This should help me have a healthier PG this time around. I hope all goes well. I will keep you updated. :)

Just to fill you in...
I think I have been doing fairly well with keeping up with this blog...ok NOT great but well. :)
Today I am 9 weeks ad 3 days and boy has PG been kicking my butt lately. I had to go buy some maternity shorts and a tank top when I turned 9 weeks because my normal jeans and top werent just comfy anymore. Oh maternity clothes may not be fashion forward but they sure are comfy. I love these shorts, the hide a belly thing is the best invention right now as far as I am concerned. I think I might keep these shorts forever for those Fluffy days. LOL Ladies you know what i mean when I say "Fluffy" days. Oh or muffin top days. You know when your belly comes over your jeans/shorts like a muffin comes over the tin?
Well the secret belly panel holds in the fluffiness and it is magic. LOL.
So that is where I am so far in this PG. Savannah and Marcus both realize I have a baby inside me and Savannah is really protective if Marcus gets to close...she yells he is squishing the baby. Well I am sure this will only worse as my tummy gets bigger. Here we go again. :)

Scan went GREAT!
So yesterday on Friday July 31st 2009 I had my first look at my miracle baby. All went well. EDD is officially March 18, 2010 and the baby had a great heart beat. Still was surreal to see it on the screen and I had a level of shock still that I thought had gone away.
I think maybe what I am shocked about is that my body did this naturally and not with any help at all. I hope this PG becomes real soon...and this shock wears off. Makes me feel bad that I get so overwhelmed when I think about it.
One day at a time is how I will take it. The only thing that can get me through is PRAYER. :)

We have a CONFIRMED PG!
Well last Thursday I went to the OB and after leaving a urine sample for the PG test....I placed it in the wall and before I could wash my hands the girl took it from the compartment. So I finish washing up and walk out to my room and the girl had already ran the test and noted it in my chart. She came smiling into the room asking me what my LMP was, took my BP (it was good 122/64) and then she leaves for the NP to come in. I know I am indeed PG when she is looking at all the kids and our 4mth old, and I notice she has the 'Welcome to PG' folder they give all PG moms. OH DEAR!
So she tells me it was a super STRONG BFP and that she isnt at all worried about it being a unsticky PG. So that makes me feel a lil better. If I am to be PG I want it to be healthy right? So I had to book a scan to date this PG for the following Friday, which is in 2 days. We should see how far along I am this Friday. I just want to know this is a healthy bean and I can get settled into the idea of being PG again.
Here we go AGAIN. :)

Surprise!
So we had our lil baby girl Scarlett. She was born March 12, 2009. She was born almost 6 weeks early at 34.5wks gestation. Our lil girl weighted 4lb 14oz and was 17in long. I got to see her for less than a minute while they were cutting her cord. She was then whisked away to the nursery and later transferred to Children's Hospital. She spent a total of 9 days there. She did well and had no set backs. They just worked alot on her jaundice and getting her feedings up.
After she came she grew so fast. They had her on special formula for Preemies. She has gained all her weight plus some. She is currently in the 95% for all babies 4mths old and she really is 3mths. So yes we have a porker here.
So Scarlett was the completion to our family of 4......or so we thought. On Wed July 15th I took a home pregnancy test and low and behold I am expecting a lil bundle in FEB. We are totally shocked and surprised since I tried everything under tha sun to get PG with my other 3. So we sorta figured it was really impossible to happen. Guess we were wrong.
So I go tomorrow to have this PG confirmed and make sure all is well. I will also get my official EDD.
I will try to be better about posting about this PG. :) -Terra

I am such a BAD BAD blogger.....
Please excuse me!
So last I updated you was Aug 18th 2008......Sheesh 6 months ago! I feel so bad. Well I guess this will be a long update to make up for the 6 month absence.
Well it turns out that I had my first sono and it showed ONE healthy baby! There was a good heart beat but baby was too small to measure to get accurate dates. So I was sent back in 2 weeks later to have another sono to get my EDD (due date). According to that sono and my dates I had calculated, my EDD was April, 18th 2009! This was sorta exciting because this was the day that my daughter was born. Although I knew I would never make that date, it was nice to have it tied to this PG.
So as the weeks went by I was put on all the nausea meds there are. My morning sickness would eventually break through the meds or I would get panic attacks from taking them for so long. I started to have ligament pains at 12.5 weeks and had a sono to make sure I hadnt had a cyst rupture. That scan showed all was fine and when they did the check on the gender (even though it was really early) we got a really nice shot of a penis. So when she told me BOY I just couldnt wrap my head around the thought that I really had a boy growing inside me. I had felt from early on that it was a GIRL!
So for weeks we went around saying there was huge chance it was a boy and picking out boy names. We came up with Micah. Never really settled on a middle name though. James was in the running though.
So as my PG progressed I got bigger and bigger really fast. I started to measure ahead by 4-6 weeks. That is enough to scare you into thinking they missed a twin! So I was looking forward to my 17.5 week scan. That scan showed again, 1 healthy baby and this time we got to see a very, very , very active baby. It took 2 techs and 2 hours to get all the measurements. But finally the baby showed the goods for one more time and this time my gut feelings were put to rest. The scan showed that I was indeed PG with a very active GIRL after all.
We were so happy to have been told that we had a girl. That meant no circumcision to go through and also that I got to use all the cute girl clothes I had saved from my daughter. Also, it sorta explained why I had been so sick...I guess I tend to get really sick when I carry girls. So it didnt take us long to pick out her name...we quickly had decided that her name would be a southern belle name. We chose Scarlett Rose! Yes, we are having our daughters share middle names. So we will have a Savannah and a Scarlett Rose!
So jump ahead to 22 weeks and I started to feel weird and called to be seen ASAP. I was sent to L&D from the OB office because I had high B/P and protein in my urine. Turned out to be nothing though. Seems I had an infection that I was fighting that caused the symptoms of pregnancy induced hypertension. After I got hooked up an monitored I was deemed healthy and sent home. I was given something for nausea and also some Ambien to help me sleep. (I hadnt slept in 4 days.....part of the reason for the high B/P too.) They started at this time to do fFN test on me to see if I was going to go into labor within 2 weeks. All the test came out negative each time they were done.
So I continue on in my PG and all was fine till I reached about 28 weeks. This is when I started having contractions. At 29 weeks I had been put on bedrest because I was having lots of contractions with pressure. I was checked at triage in the hospital and found to be closed and not in active labor. I went into L&D again at 30 weeks and this time was having a very irritable uterus. 2 contractions a minute. My back acked and I just wanted it to stop. They came in to start an IV to see if that would knock out the CTX but it did nothing to change them. They gave me some pain meds for my back and applied some heat to it. When I was checked this time I was found to be 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. And when checked 2 hours later was still the same so I was allowed to go home.
I followed up with my OB later that week and was still the same 1cm and 50%. She had the thought that maybe I was getting anxiety issues that were throwing off hormones and starting the CTX. So she Rxed me some anxiety meds. I was apprehensive of taking them but decided to try them. After the first pill there was a night and day difference. All the little CTX STOPPED! So it has now been almost 3 weeks since I have started to anxiety meds and they have gotten me this far in my PG. I am 33 weeks today and have the normal Braxton Hicks CTX that come about 3-4 an hour. I do feel that my body is slowly gearing up for labor even though I am taking the meds. So when I wean off this anxiety med I think that it wont be long. I am trying to hold her in till around the 36th week if I can.
I will try to update on a more regular basis.....Esp as stuff starts to happen. :) -Terra
